The film is based on a true story happened in japan. In 1924, Hachiko was brought to Tokyo by the owner, Hidesaburo Ueno, a professor at the agriculture department at the University of Tokyo. During his life Hachiko owners "Hidesaburo Ueno" always see the Hachiko took off his departure from the front door and welcome him back at night near Shibuya Station.

The pair continued their daily routines until May 1925, when Professor Ueno did not return to a normal evening Hachiko welcoming place in the train normally, Hachiko looks very confused wait. Professor suffered a stroke that day at the university. He died and never returned to the train station where Hachiko waited.

After the death of the professor, Hachiko was brought to move away. But he escaped on a regular basis, appears again and again in the house that long. After a long time waiting, Hachiko apparently realized that Professor Ueno no longer lived at home. So he went looking for his master at the train station where she accompanied her for so long before. Each day, Hachiko waited for Professor Ueno returned. And every day he does not see his friend among the commuters at the station.

Many people who frequented the Shibuya train station had seen Hachiko and Professor Ueno together every day. Realizing that Hachiko waiting and watching for his master who had died, their heart is very touched. Hachiko They brought gifts and food to feed themselves during the wait.

This continued for 10 years, with Hachiko appear only at night, just when the train used to take home a professor at the station.
